Karla Pierson was born in Morton, PA on October 20, 1955 to Albert Linwood Jones Jr. and Dolores Jones-Butler. She was the 4th and middle child of seven children: Sheila, Albert, Jennifer, Curtis (who precedes her in death), Pamela, and Lawrence. Karla was raised in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Bartram High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh. In 2005, she earned a Master's in Human Services from Lincoln University.
On August 12, 1978, she married the love of her life, Robert Elliot Pierson III and together they had three beautiful children: Saakara, Faatimah, and Robert Elliot Pierson IV. In 1987, she began her work at the School District of Philadelphia in the Headstart Program, where she worked with families and children for the remainder of her years. Karla loved the Lord and he was a major part of her life. She belonged to Holy Cross Baptist Church, where in 2010, she became a deaconess. At her church, she was also a part of the Willing Hands and Sister to Sister ministries, among others. Karla enjoyed spending time with friends and family, entertaining, traveling, sewing, and reading the Bible. Karla had an infectious smile and she touched the lives of many people. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be truly missed. She is much loved and will always be remembered by all her friends and family.
